ACOSS engages with our membership to develop policy and advocacy strategies to improve the lives of Australians
Membership types
National Membership
National Member Organisations are national organisations that have an active interest in promoting social welfare.
Our national members have voting rights at the Annual General Meeting, including the election of the ACOSS Board of Governors.
National members are also invited to attend meetings during the year with the ACOSS CEO and staff to discuss future policy directions and ways in which our organisations can continue to work together.
As part of your National Membership your organisation will also receive:
- An electronic subscription to Impact Magazine and the Australian Journal of Social Issues
- Our Annual Report
- ACOSS @ Work eBulletin
- 25% discount to ACOSS Publications and Events
- ACOSS Submissions and Media Releases emailed to you
- Full access to the ACOSS Jobs, Training and Events bulletin to advertise any upcoming positions, training or events

Affiliate Membership
Affiliate members are national social welfare organisations, including government organisations that are prevented by their constitutions from joining as National Members. It is also for government organisations involved in social welfare activities ineligible for or unable to accept member agency status and other organisations with an interest in national social welfare policy.
As part of your Affiliate Membership your organisation will receive:
- A subscription to Impact Magazine and the Australian Journal of Social Issues
- Our Annual Report
- ACOSS @ Work eBulletin
- 25% discount to ACOSS Publications and Events
- ACOSS Submissions and Media Releases emailed to you

Associate Membership
ACOSS Associate Members are organisations that are not eligible to become National Members or Affiliates of ACOSS (see above) and is also the only category of membership for individuals.
Associate Members receive:

- 25% discount to ACOSS Publications and Events
- ACOSS Submissions and Media Releases emailed to you
